Les Miserables
The Novel Les Miserables burst into the french literary scene in 1862. Written by Victor Hugo while he was in exile for his criticism of Napoleon,Les Mis covers all points of Nineteenth century french life. Jean Valjean, a convict, is released after spending nineteen years in prision for stealing a loaf of bread. Valjean now hopes to turn his life around by helping others, particuarly the lowly prostitute Fantine and her daughter Cosset. For Sure the most beautiful piece of literature ever written!

Les Miserables made it's musical debut October 8, 1985 and has been fourteen years in the running. Truly "The World's Favorite Musical" and definetly my favorite musical(Well, only when Colm is playing Valjean, otherwise I refuse to listen to it, and I'd prefer it if Terrence Mann is Playing Javert, he rocks!) I have unfortunatly never seen Les Mis live, but I am going to in August! YAY! To find out abot preformances in your area check my links below.
The Musical
The Movie Now, the movie. I think any tru Mis fan would agree that the movie does NO justice to the book or musical. The only part I enjoyed was seeing Liam Neeson on big screen *sigh* The producers could have made this movie alot better!
